US raw steel slips from last week
US raw steel production ticked down slightly in the week ended 6 October, though it remains up significantly year on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.851 million short tons at 79% capability utilisation, down -0.3% from the previous week, when utilisation was 79.2%, but up 8.5% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 73.2%.
