US raw steel rises on week, year
US raw steel production rose both on week and on year in the week ended 3 November, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production totaled 1.706 million short tons during the week. Average capability utilisation was 81.8%, up 1% from the previous week, when utilisation was 81%, and up 12.4% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 73,2%.
