US raw steel production up week on week
US raw steel production is up week on week but remains down year on year, according to the latest data from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
In the week ended January 9, US raw steel production was 1.594 million short tons at an average capability utilisation of 66.7%. That’s up 10.7% from the week ended January 2, when production was 1.44m st at an average capability utilisation of 60.2%, Kallanish notes.
