US raw steel production ticks up
US raw steel production increased both on week and on year in the week ended 19 May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.775 million short tons. This is at 75.7% capability utilisation, up 1.6% from the previous week, when utilisation was 74.5%, and up 3.3% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 73.7%.
