US raw steel production still moving up
US raw steel production appears to be headed up, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production reached 1.748 million short tons in the week ended May 9 at an average capability utilisation of 74.7. That’s up 2.2 percent from last week, when capability utilisation was 73.2%, and up 2.6% from last year, when capability utilisation was 72.1%.
