US raw steel production slips on week
US raw steel production fell slightly on week in the week ended 26 November but remains up significantly on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US production stands at 1.598 million short tons at 67.4% capacity utilisation, down -0.5% from last week, when capacity utilisation was 67.7%, but up 6.5% from the equivalent week last year, when capacity utilisation was 62.7%.
