US raw steel production slips
US raw steel production slipped week on week but remains up year on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
In the week ended 26 August, raw steel production stood at 1.74 million short tons at 74.6% capacity utilisation, down -1.3% from the previous week, when utilisation was 75.6%, but up 5.1% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 70.8%.
