US raw steel production slips
US raw steel production slipped on week but remains up relative to the equivalent week last year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stood at 1.723 million short tons at 72.7% capability utilisation in the week ended 4 February. That’s down -0.7% from the previous week, when capability utilisation was 73.3%, but up 3.5% from the week of 4 February, 2016, when capability utilisation was 71.2%.
