US raw steel production slides on week
US raw steel production slipped week on week but remains up year on year in the week ended 25 November, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production stands at 1.703 million short tons at 73% capability utilisation, down -2.4% from the previous week, when utilisation was 74.9%, but up 7% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 67.1%.
