US raw steel production slides on week
US raw steel production in the week ended 4 June ticked down week on week but remains up year on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production last week totalled 1.76 million short tons at 75.3% capability utilisation, down -0.8% from the prior week but up 0.9% from the equivalent period last year. The capability utilisation figures for the prior week and year were 75.9% and 73.7%, respectively.
