US raw steel production rises on week, year
US raw steel production rose both on week and on year in the week ended 6 April, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production stands at 1.928 million short tons at 82.8%, up 0.8% from the previous week, when utilisation was 82.2%, and up 7.9% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 76.3%.
