US raw steel production rises on week
US raw steel production rose slightly in the week ended 16 September and remained up significantly over last year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.745 million short tons at 74.9% capability utilisation, up 0.7% from last week, when utilisation was 74.3%, and up 9.7% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 68%.
