US raw steel production rises slightly on week
US raw steel production ticked up slightly week on week, but it remains down year on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US steel production stands at 1.611 million short tons at 68.9% capability utilisation. That’s up 0.4% from the previous week, when capability utilisation was 68.6%, but down -4.5% from last year, when capability utilisation was 70.5%.
