US raw steel production rises from last week
US raw steel production appears to have risen on-week but slipped on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production in the week ended 19 October reached 1.841 million short tons at 79.6% capability utilisation – up 1.1% from the previous week, when utilisation was 78.7%, but down -1.9% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 80.1%.
