US raw steel production rises
US raw steel production rose both on-week and on-year in the week ended 15 December, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production reached 1.89 million short tons during the week at an average capacity utilisation of 80.6%, up 0.7% from the previous week, when utilisation was 80%, and up 12.8% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 71.9%.
