US raw steel production rises
US raw steel production ticked up both on week and on year in the week ended 14 October, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel stands at 1.744 million short tons at 74.8% capability utilisation, up 0.2% from the previous week, when utilisation was 74.7%, and up 5.4% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 70.8%.
