US raw steel production moves up
US raw steel production rose both on week and on year in the week ended 4 May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.915 million short tons at 82.3% capability utilisation, up 1.1% from the previous week, when utilisation was 81.4%. It was also up 6.6% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 77.6%.
