US raw steel production moves up
US raw steel production rose both week-on-week and year-on-year in the week ended 12 January, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.891 million short tons at 79.8% capability utilisation, up 0.8% from the previous week, when utilisation was 80%. This is up 10.3% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 73.6%.
