US raw steel production increases
US raw steel production ticked up both on week and on year in the week ended 16 December, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production stands at 1.698 million short tons at 72.8% capacity utilisation, up 1.6% from the previous week, when utilisation was 71.7%, and up 5.7% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 67.8%.
