US raw steel production inches up on-week
US raw steel production increased on-week but remained significantly down on-year in the week ended 11 July, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.289 million short tons at 57.5% utilisation, up 1.7% from last week, when utilisation was 56.6%, but down -30.2% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 79.4%.
