US raw steel production inches down
US raw steel production fell both on week and on year in the week ended August 13, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.685 million short tons at 72.1% capability utilisation, down -0.7 from last week, when utilisation was 72.6%, and down -2.4% from the equivalent period last year, when utilisation was 72.2%.
