US raw steel production inches up
US raw steel production increased both on week and on year in the week ended 24 August, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.877m short tons at 80.6% capability utilisation – up 1.1% from the previous week, when utilisation was 79.8%, and up 0.9% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 79.4%.
