US raw steel production heads up
US raw steel production climbed both week on week and year on year in the week ended 21 May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.756 million short tons, up 1.7% from last week and 3.1% from last year. Average capability utilisation is 75.1%. Last week, capability utilisation stood at 72.1% while last year it stood at 73.9%.
