US raw steel production heading up
US raw steel production ticked up slightly both week on week and year on year in the week ended April 30, Kallanish reports.
US raw steel production stands at 1.711 million short tons at an average capability utilisation of 73.2%. That’s up 1.6% from the week prior, when capability utilisation was 72%, and up 3.8% from last year, when capability utilisation was 69.8%.
