US raw steel production gains on week
US raw steel production rose week on week but slipped slightly year on year in the week ended 19 June, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.739 million short tons at 74.6% capability utilisation, up 1.2% from the previous week, when utilisation was 73.7%, but down -0.9% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 75.1%.
