US raw steel production falters
US raw steel production slipped on week in the week ended 14 July, but it remains up significantly from last year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.783 million short tons at 76.1% capability utilisation, down -0.5% from the previous week, when utilisation was 76.4%, but up 2.9% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 74.3%.
