US raw steel production falls on week
US raw steel production slipped week on week but remains up year on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production stands at 1.763 million short tons at 75.6% capability utilisation in the week ended 19 August. That’s down -1% from the previous week, when utilisation was 76.4%, but up 6.5% from the equivalent week last year.
