US raw steel production falls on week
US raw steel production rose slipped in the week ended 12 May, though it remains up from last year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.718 million short tons at 73.7% capability, down -1.8% from the previous week, when utilisation stood at 75.9%, but up 1.7% from the previous year, when utilisation was 73.7%.
