US raw steel production falls in latest tally
US raw steel production fell on week but remains up on year for the week ended 20 April, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.903 millions short tons at 81.8% capability utilisation, down -0.6% from the previous week, when utilisation was 82.3%, but up 6.9% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 76%.
