US raw steel production down weekly, yearly
US raw steel production in the week ended 2 January dipped slightly from last week, but was down almost 20% from last year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production fell 1.1% week on week to 1.44 million short tons at an average capability utilisation of 60.2%. Capability utilisation in the week prior was 60.9%.
