US raw steel production dips again
US raw steel production fell slightly from last week, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production in the week ended February 20 totaled 1.699 million short tons at 72.7% capacity utilisation, down about 0.2% from last week’s production of 1.703m st at capacity utilisation of 72.8%.
The gain came from a boost in Southern production from 592,000st to 595,000st and from Western production’s gain from 79,000st to 83,000…
