US raw steel production continues to increase
US raw steel production has ticked up both week-on-week and year-on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Production in the week ended 28 May was 1.775 million short tons at 75.9% average capability utilisation, up 1.1% and 4.2% from last week and last year, respectively. Capability utilisation in the week ended 21 May was 75.1%, while capability utilisation in the week ended 28 May, 2015, was 72.1%.
