US raw steel production climbs on week, year
US raw steel production increased both on week and on year in the week ended 7 January, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.684 million short tons at 71% capability utilisation, up 5.8% from last week, when capability utilisation was 67.1%, and up 4.8% from the equivalent week last year, when capability utilisation was 68.7%.
