US raw steel production climbs on-week
US raw steel production rose on-week in the week ended 12 October, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production reached 1.502 million short tons during the week at 67.9% capability utilisation, up 1.2% from the previous week, when utilisation was 66.6%, but down -16.8% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 78%.
The South led production by region with 592,000 st, followed by the Great Lakes with 538,000…
