US raw steel production climbs
US raw steel production ticked up both on week and on year in the week ended 14 January, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production stands at 1.716 million short tons at 72.3% capability utilisation, up 1.9% from the previous week, when capability utilisation was 71%, and up 6.8% from the equivalent week last year, when capability utilisation was 68.7%.
