US raw steel production continues to rise
US raw steel production rose slightly week-on-week and but more significantly year-on-year in the week ended 17 November 2018, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.924 million net tons at 82.1% capability utilisation. That is up just 0.5% from the previous week, when utilisation was 81.7%, and up 12.6% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 73.3%.
