US raw steel output stays well ahead year-on-year
US raw steel production slipped slightly week-on-week and but maintained its year-on-year rise in the week ended 24 November 2018, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.906 million net tons at 81.3% capability utilisation. That is down -0.9% from the previous week, when utilisation was 82.1%, and up 11.6% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 73.3%.
