US raw steel output drops on-week and on-year
US weekly raw steel output dipped week-on -week in week-ending 30 July 2016. Data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) and monitored by Kallanish show that output also decreased year-on-year. Capability utilisation however was marginally higher on-year.
In the week ending 30 July 2016, domestic raw steel production was 1,681,000 net tons while the capability utilisation rate was 71.7%. Output was -3.9% lower than the 1,750,000nt produced…
