US raw steel moves up on week, year
US raw steel production increased both week-on-week and year-on-year in the week ended 11 May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.927 million short tons at 82.8% capability utilisation, up 0.6% from the previous week, when utilisation was 82.3%. It is also up 6.6% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 77.1%.
