US raw steel up from last week, year
US weekly raw steel production posted identical increases from the week-ago and year-ago periods in the week ended April 9, Kallanish understands from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production crested 1.656 million short tons last week at 70.8% capability utilisation. That’s up 0.4% from last week, when capability utilisation was 70.6%, and up 0.4% from last year, when capability utilisation was 69.8%.
