US raw steel inches up on-week
US raw steel production ticked up slightly last week but remains down on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.306 million short tons at 58.3% capability utilisation for the week ended 18 July. That’s up 1.3% from last week, when utilisation was 57.5%, but down -29.3% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 79.4%.
