US raw steel growth slows in May
US raw steel production growth appeared relatively tepid in May, Kallanish learns from the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
US crude production rose 0.2% from May 2016 to May 2017, reaching 7 million tonnes. Year-to-date production rose 2.2%, reaching 33.978mt.
Global steel production growth, by contract rose 2% year-on-year to 143.3mt. Ytd production rose 4.7% to 694.76mt.
