US raw steel falls on week
US raw steel production slipped on-week but remains up on-year in the week ended 18 May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.9 million short tons, down -1.4% from the previous week, when utilisation was 82.8%, but up 5.1% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 77.1%.
