US raw steel falls in latest tally
US raw steel production slipped both on week and on year in the week ended 13 May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.728 million short tons at 74.1% capacity utilisation, down -0.5% from the previous week, when capacity utilisation was 74.5%, and down -0.2% from the equivalent week last year, when capacity utilisation was again 74.1%.
