US raw steel down in latest AISI estimate
US raw steel production in the week ended February 27 posted slight declines both month on month and year on year, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Production last week was 1.692m short tons at 72.4% capability utilisation. That’s down 0.4% from the week prior, when capability utilisation was 72.7%, and down 0.8% from the week of February 27, 2015, when capability utilisation was level at 72.4%.
