US raw steel continues weekly fall

US raw steel production appears to have fallen both on week and on year in the week ended 27 August, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. US raw steel production stands at 1.642 million short tons at 70.2% capability utilisation, down -0.8% from last week, when utilisation was 70.8%, and down -4.9% from the equivalent week last  year, when utilisation was 72.2%.
