US plate prices trend down as demand decreases
US plate prices made a modest slip to $1,600-1,630/short ton from last week, when prices ranged from $1,600-1,650/st, learns Kallanish.
“Business is slow, and we’re expecting another price cut. Imports from Korea could exert more pressure. But, lack of demand and sidelined spot buyers are also driving the price cuts,” a distribution side source shares.
Plate prices for the week of 19 October, 2021, were between $1,650-1,680/st.
