US plate prices set to rise
US plate prices may be poised for another uptick, Kallanish reports.
Nucor raised its carbon and alloy plate prices Friday by $30/short ton and its heat-treated plate prices by $50/st.
A buy-side source says the increase was somewhat smaller than expected, given projected March scrap prices, and a second increase could be coming soon.
