US plate prices hold, market uncertain of decline
Plate prices are holding steady in the US. It is unclear if and when prices will begin to decline from their current all-time highs.
Kallanish held its A36 assessment Wednesday at $1,800-1850/short ton, ex-works, domestic mill.
Mills are reportedly not moving prices one way or another at the moment, but some deals can be found for larger purchases.
“February remains strong. I do not see any movement until March,” one Midwest plate buyer says.
