US plate prices drop on-week after more discounting
US plate prices have decreased again week-on-week, to $1350-1,430/short ton from $1,430-1,450/st, Kallanish learns.
“Business has worsened since last week. Prices are all over the place. Nucor’s adjustment went sideways. SSAB's is much lower,” says a distribution source.
This decrease marks the seventh price fluctuation noted by sources over the course of three months.
